Dr. Peggy Mitchell Clarke is a clinical psychologist, author, personal growth coach, and thought leader in how to transform your mindset and habits to promote maximum personal growth and lasting change.
A retired psychology professor who taught for nearly 20 years at numerous colleges and universities in Colorado and Virginia, Dr. Peg earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brown University, and her M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia. She is certified in Transformation Prayer Ministry (TPM) and is an ordained minister and teacher through Global Change Network, USA.
Prior to teaching, Dr. Peg served as a psychotherapist in a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, including college counseling centers, an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) for police officers and firefighters, a community mental health agency, and a state psychiatric hospital. She also has experience as a college administrator and served as Associate Director of Career and Counseling Services at Christopher Newport University and the Director of Faculty Professional Development at Community College of Aurora.
An active community mental health advocate, Dr. Peg was a member of the Colorado State Board of Directors for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and served as an Executive Officer for the Denver-Rocky Mountain Association of Black Psychologists and the Virginia Association of Black Psychologists. She is also a member of the Board of Overseers for Global Change Network USA and Christian Vocational Training School (CVTS), and recently received the 2018 Woman of Greatness Award for Social Science and Counseling from The Connection Church and is a recipient of the 2014 Women of Good Deeds Award from Sigma Gamma Rho.
For the past six years, Dr. Peg has hosted and co-produced Living Well with Dr. Peg, a weekly radio show currently airing live on Denver’s KLZ 560AM on Thursdays at 1pm Mountain. Prior to radio, Dr. Peg spent four years as the television show host and co-producer for Perspectives and appeared weekly for four years on Denver’s 9NEWS Morning Show on the Ask the Experts panel.
As an expert in helping people master their mindset and habits, Dr. Peg has shared her knowledge in the 10th Anniversary edition of her book, Do Something Different…For a Change: An Insider’s Guide to What Your Therapist Knows (But May Not Tell You). She has also written Doggie Tales: Lessons on Life, Love, and Loss I Learned From My Dog as well as monthly columns for Body of Christ News, 5 Points News, and Fulton Kentucky News.
By applying the life-transforming principles and strategies she teaches to others in her own life, Dr. Peg is following her heart’s desires and living the life she dreamed about and prayed for. Traveling the country as a consultant and speaker and reaching the world through her books and radio program, she is passionate about teaching people how to live their best lives and advance to their next level. Dr. Peg is a wife, mother, and 8-time triathlete who enjoys the outdoors and singing Karaoke.
